An outdoor concrete table for a terrace, pool deck or café courtyard has to survive weather, staff and freight. This guide covers the four table types used in commercial outdoor spaces, how to evaluate finish and maintenance, what the pieces weigh, and the questions that separate a factory from a trader.

Concrete outdoor table types by commercial use
Outdoor dining table
Seats four to ten, top 25 mm GFRC on a cast or steel base. Specify a top size that gives 60 cm per seat and a base that leaves 65 cm knee clearance. Typical weight 55–95 kg in GFRC, 130 kg and more in cast concrete.
Outdoor coffee table
Lounge height 30–38 cm, round or square, 18–40 kg. The piece most often moved by staff, so weight matters more than on dining tables.
Fire table
Cast around a stainless burner tray with a heat-resistant lining. Quoted per project; drawings required for the gas connection route.
End and side tables
Ø 35–50 cm, 6–14 kg. Order these in the same colour batch as the dining tables; a mismatch is the most common complaint on terraces furnished from two suppliers.
Material, finish and maintenance
Concrete outdoors fails in three ways: water absorption, UV fading of pigment, and freeze-thaw cracking. GFRC with a polymer-modified mix absorbs under 3% water; a penetrating UV-stable sealer takes care of fading; low absorption prevents freeze damage. Specify all three on the purchase order, not just the colour.
Weight, freight and installation
A 40HQ container takes roughly 80 outdoor dining tables or 230 coffee tables in GFRC. The same forms in cast concrete hit the weight limit at around 45 and 140. If the terrace is on a roof, ask for the per-piece weight before the crane is booked.

Five questions to ask any supplier
- Is this GFRC or cast concrete, and what is the per-piece weight with packing?
- Which sealer, and what is the recoat interval?
- Can I see a drop-test and a load-test record for this model?
- How is colour consistency controlled between the first and the repeat order?
- Who exactly makes it: your factory, or a factory you buy from?
FAQ
Are outdoor concrete tables suitable for high-traffic restaurants?
Yes, when the top is sealed and the base is heavy enough not to tip. A 150 kg static load test is our minimum for commercial pieces.
How much maintenance do they need?
Wipe with mild soap. Recoat the sealer every three years outdoors; the care card gives the product name.
Can they be customised for a project?
Sizes, colours, cable grommets, umbrella holes and anchor plates are all drawing-level changes with no tooling fee on catalogue forms.
